We are now in the final stages of meeting the planning permission conditions, with the first contract awarded for designing the embankment specification—from the flood defences to the station approach. This marks a significant milestone, as it paves the way for construction to commence imminently.
The initial phase will see the embankment built, followed quickly by track being laid both on the new embankment and alongside the flood defences, where all civil engineering works are now complete thanks to your support. On 9th February, plant machinery was deployed to the rugby field and nearby farmland to collect soil samples, which will inform the final embankment design.
We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to every supporter and donor—your generosity has already made a tangible impact, bringing us to the brink of construction. Every contribution has helped us overcome key hurdles and reach this pivotal point.
We are well on track to raise the funds for purchasing the rail, sleepers, and fixings essential for the next stages, but we still need to reach our £100,000 target. Your continued support will directly fund the materials for track construction and help us break new ground for the station itself. By hitting our goal, we secure not only the physical infrastructure but also the future of the railway extension, bringing lasting benefit to the community. Please keep supporting us—together, we are turning plans into reality.
