Track Appeal

We need your help!

We’re starting the next stage, that will see physical progress on the ground, with our £300,000 track appeal.

This will enable us to buy enough plain track and ballast for the whole extension marked red above.

  • £15 will buy clips and screws for one sleeper.
  • £50 will buy one sleeper and fixings.
  • £600 will buy one rail and a pair of fishplates, or enough sleepers and fixings for one track panel.
  • £1200 will buy two rails and fishplates to make a track panel.
  • £2,000 will sponsor a complete track panel.

For each donation of £2,000 or more for this appeal, the sponsor will receive a certificate, which will be provided once all the track work has been completed. We will then allocate a track panel on our map detailing the sponsors. This will be displayed at the railway, so they can proudly show friends and family how they helped to get the trains back to the town.

If this appeal isn’t for you, you can of course make a donation of any amount to the Red Dragon Project by donating using the link below

  • I have been meaning to donate since the excellent Winifred Gala last August so these two sleepers represent my arrears in monthly contribution! It's a really exciting project and I'm 100% behind it!
