The Cabinet of Gwynedd County Council visit Bala

The Cabinet of Gwynedd County Council visited Bala yesterday to inspect and assess the progress of the extension of the Bala Lake Railway. They met with Julian Birley, chairman of the Bala Lake Railway Trust who walked the proposed route and introduce to them, first hand, to the importance this project will be to the future regeneration of the town itself.

Julian said “I was very grateful for the time and interest the cabinet showed in the project. I got the impression that they appreciated that this will be a relatively modest capital investment in the town which will be repaid by additional incremental spend to the local businesses within a very short period of time. I was also very pleased that our AM Mabon ap Gwynfor joined us to show his continued support”.
